Investing in Black renewable energy developers will ensure the trillion-dollar transition to a low-carbon economy diversifies wealth creation and does not elude Black communities. Fairly accessing solar development is the sine qua non of wealth creation opportunities that emanate from that access.

BOSS partners with a broad array of entities in the for-profit, non-profit, and government space to ensure diverse developers have financing, technical assistance and sponsorship to be successful across the entire photovoltaic landscape and beyond.

BOSS firmly believes that there must be direct private capital and federal investments to businesses, organizations and communities of color in order to truly achieve energy and climate justice. Initiatives like Justice40, inter alia, have tremendous promise to facilitate climate resilience investments that benefits Black communities. We define and operationalize the term “benefits” to mean: first moving investment dollars into disadvantaged communities, and then delivering climate benefits.
