Power & Providence: Securing Black Ownership in the Clean Energy Transition

This session seeks to connect the historical significance of Juneteenth with the contemporary phenomenon known as the "Green Rush." It focuses on the transformative journey of Black individuals from being merely consumers and laborers in the energy sector to becoming empowered owners and innovators of energy assets. By emphasizing the urgent need to address the racial wealth gap, this dialogue serves as a pioneering effort to ensure that the benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and investments from private capital lead to the stablishment of enduring Black-owned infrastructure, rather than just fleeting employment contracts. This conversation aims to shape a future where Black communities can truly thrive in the evolving energy landscape.
